CLINICIAN
After years of struggling with addiction to opiates. I have been dedicated to giving back to those struggling with their own substance abuse. My journey is like many and different from all. I am consistently learning more about this disease. After getting my bachelor’s degree from Umass Amherst I felt like I had no purpose or direction in life working meaningless jobs just to get by. After getting some time under my belt I made the choice to get a job in the recovery field and started working as a RS at a detox center. From there I was able to enroll back in school at Umass Boston where I am currently studying to get my LADC. My purpose is to give back and help others in need and to treat people the same way I was treated while I was in treatment. I have a laid back, but honest approach to recovery with the focus being on not making excuses for the change that we so desperately seek when entering treatment.

CASE MANAGER
“I was in a world surrounded by functioning alcoholics. I was taught from a young age that you ease your anxiety with a pill and there’s no such thing as an alcoholic, you drink to celebrate or drown out sorrow. It wasn’t a problem as long as I put in a full day’s work. Things spiraled out of control, and I became physically addicted not even knowing what that meant. I went into detox not knowing anything, especially the severity of the effects of Benzos and alcohol on the body and mind”. Diane entered Aftermath as a client in 2022, following 45 days of detox/residential treatment, beginning her recovery journey. Diane completed treatment at Aftermath and was inspired to help others in recovery from addiction. She left her entire career in the mortgage industry to begin working at Aftermath full-time as a Case Manager. Diane received her certification as a Recovery Coach and has now dedicated her life to helping others recovering from addiction.
“Aftermath continues to help me keep my sobriety in the forefront.”
